Young football stars shine in Cape Town

Randburg Association Football Club are seeing three of their U19 players who were due to compete for trials in Cape Town during the Cape Town City Football for Multichoice Diski Challenge this month.

The Multichoice Diski Challenge takes place every year and aims to develop young people through programs that include a soccer tournament that allows players to improve their skills by regularly playing in a competitive league.

U19 captain Jaden Maphosa, U19 vice-captain Ime Okon and Owethu Khumalo detail their exclusive experience.

Owethu Khumalo happily shared, “I am very privileged and thrilled to be part of this trial. The workouts are good as well as the intensity.
He added that Cape Town City had been good for them so far and it was really a great experience overall.

Ime Okon added: “I felt excited to challenge myself against the best players in Cape Town and I hope I will make the team.”
Furthermore, he said it was difficult to get used to the different players, but the training was “top notch”.

Randburg Association Football Club social media manager Calum Brookes shared how proud he was of the boys and wished them luck.
