Since Louisville’s loss on Oct. 30, it has never been a question of whether NC State would play in a bowling alley, it was a matter of when and where.

Technically, it’s still those two things. But this information is becoming clearer. The Wolfpack wrapped up its regular season on Friday, beating rivals North Carolina, 34-30, in dramatic fashion. The only drama surrounding the team is where they will be spending the holidays.

NC State was hoping to play Charlotte this weekend for the ACC Championship. Now he will be focusing on his boules game, which will take place later next month, according to several projections.

With the victory over the Tar Heels, the Wolfpack finished the regular season 9-3 overall, 6-2 in the ACC. In head coach Dave Doeren’s ninth season, NC State won nine games three times. A victory in the boules game will ensure a 10-game winning season for only the second time in school history.

The next bowl game will be # 7 under Doeren. The Pack went 3-3 in the previous six.

NC State has abandoned its last two bowl games. In 2018, the Wolfpack fell to Texas A&M, 52-13, in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. Last season, back in the Gator Bowl, he lost to Kentucky, 23-21.

Here’s a look at some of the bowl projections for the Wolfpack.

There is an obvious trend here, which makes planning a bit easier for fans. NC State was named the Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week after their 27-21 victory over Clemson on September 25.

Representatives from the Holiday Bowl were in attendance for the regular season finale against North Carolina. Either way, it looks like the Wolfpack will be spending the end of December in the sun.

NC State has never faced Kansas State or UCLA in a bowl game. The Wolfpack are 0-2 against the Bruins and 1-0 against the Cyclones. NC State has never faced Kansas State in football.

The next bowl trip will be NC State’s 34th appearance. The schedule is 17-15-1 in his previous 33 trips.
