Week 9 Katy Area Soccer Stars


Carson D’Agostino, Seven Lakes: D’Agostino was involved in both forced turnovers by Seven Lakes, recording his second interception of the season as well as a forced fumble recovered by Jonah Thigpen. Scott Stanford had 11 tackles, the team’s top, for the Spartans, adding a 70-yard punt with an average of 33.9.

Jackson Ingram, Taylor: Ingram had a career night for the Mustangs, completing 13 of 23 passes for 315 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Wyatt Fahey set his own career highs with six catches for 110 yards, while Hollis Robinson, Alei Sabek and Michael Whitaker III caught touchdown passes.

Jordan Kelly, Mayde Creek: Kelly continues to lead the Rams offensively, including five receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown against Morton Ranch. His third 100-yard game of the season brought his season totals to 39 catches, 750 yards and nine touchdowns.

Caleb Komolafe, Tompkins: Komolafe made plays on both sides of the ball, including four tackles. He also carried 11 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns to five of the Falcons two 100 yards back. Caleb Blocker led on rushing with 158 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries.

Josh Prieto, Paetow: The Panthers have had many highlights against Hightower, including Prieto’s first two career touchdowns. He caught four passes for 48 yards from CJ Dumas while blocking the night for 203 yards and four touchdowns from Damyrion Phillips.

Gavin Rutherford, Cinco Ranch: The Cougars had a season-high points against Taylor, with Rutherford completing 19 of 27 passes for a season-high 324 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also recorded his fifth game with a rating of 120 or more. Seth Salverino caught three passes for 128 yards and a touchdown, in addition to his 107-yard punt return. Grayson Williams (2-87-1) and Fischer Reed (9-75-0) were also prime targets.

Kasey Murry, Cinco Ranch: Murry had eight tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery, bringing his season tally to 69 tackles and five sacks. Nedu Anih forced two fumbles and two sacks, while Clay Parker added an interception and Nathan Rothwell had seven tackles, three rushes and two breakouts.

Ethan Rawlings, Tompkins: Rawlings recorded his first career interception and one-loss tackle while equaling Bryce Shaink for the team lead with five tackles. The Falcons shutout Seven Lakes for their second straight shutout.

Daymion Sanford, Paetow: Sanford led a relentless charge through the Panthers’ defensive front, recording eight tackles, five for losses, three sacks and a fumble recovery. Paetow had 10 sacks as a team, two by Sultan Bakare and Loghan Thomas.

Santana Scott, Morton Ranch: Scott is now a 1,000-yard runner, taking 1,092 yards in the final two weeks of the regular season. He had 241 and two touchdowns in 26 carries against Mayde Creek, with Josh Johnson scoring twice and adding a touchdown pass to Cameron Hudson.

Kijuan Tavarez, Ranch Morton: Tavarez’s six tackles (five solo), three loss tackles and two quarterback sacks were the key to a well-deserved victory for the Mavericks. Dean Ford had nine tackles, three for a loss, with D’Isaac Fernandez and Tyree Washington adding interceptions for the Morton Ranch defense.
