Upgame receives funding from football stars – India Golf Weekly

Upgame, an app developed in India by Delhi-based Bensaw Technologies and its founder, former amateur touring player Sameer Sawhney, has attracted an undisclosed amount as investment from Liverpool midfielder James Milner and his former teammate Adam Lallana.

In recent times, the app has seen a 30-fold growth in monthly revenue since January of this year and has managed to retain over 85% of its users as it grows geographically.
Other investors in Upgame include Danny Conway, former San Francisco-based Facebook; Andreesen Horowitz, tech entrepreneur and philanthropist; Dr Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, one of India’s renowned business leaders and RN Sports Management.

The sports performance app currently specializes in golf and helps players analyze their game and better understand their strengths and weaknesses. Its unique map-based interface and metrics, which can be shared between player and coach through the app itself, has led to a 790% increase in data collection from users.
