SARANAC LAKE – The Saranac Lake college football game against Plattsburgh High School has been postponed because a player from the Saranac Lake football team tested positive for COVID-19. The Champlain Valley Athletic Conference game was scheduled for Saturday.

The postponement was confirmed Thursday by Red Storm head coach Eric Bennett.

The game has yet to be officially canceled, and it is not known when the game will be released. If the game is called off, Red Storm’s next opponent will be at home next Saturday against Peru Central.

Saranac Lake is the second CVAC team this year to cancel or postpone a football game due to a positive COVID-19 case. The first was Peru on September 22.

The non-CVAC college football team at Tupper Lake has also had a few games canceled due to COVID cases on their team and teams at other schools.
