Nevada-Colorado State football game moved to prime time Oct. 7 on FS1


Nevada’s highly anticipated football game against Colorado State will be played in prime time on a Friday night on national television.

The meeting between the Wolf Pack and the Rams – under the guidance of former Nevada head coach Jay Norvell – will begin at 7:30 p.m. on October 7 and will be broadcast on FS1. This will be Mountain West’s first game of the Wolf Pack at home in the 2022 season.

The Nevada-CSU game was one of seven on the Pack schedule to release broadcast and start time details Thursday, as conferences and networks made their first round of announcements for the season. coming.

Former Nevada head coach Jay Norvell, who left the team this offseason for the same position at Colorado State, returns to Reno to play the Wolf Pack on Oct. 7.

Nevada will also play a Friday game at Air Force on Sept. 23 (5 p.m., FS1) in what will be its MW opener. Previously, Air Force and Colorado State games were scheduled for Saturday games, September 24 and October 8, respectively.

Later in the season, the Pack will play four consecutive games on CBS Sports Network with kickoffs at 7:30 p.m. Three of those games — against San Diego State, Boise State and Fresno State — will be played at Mackay Stadium, with the road game taking place at San Jose State.

In addition to Mountain West’s announced six games, Nevada and Iowa have been placed in a 4:30 p.m. slot on the Big Ten Network for their Sept. 17 game at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.

The Wolf Pack’s five remaining matches, including the Nov. 26 game against arch-rival UNLV, don’t yet have start times or broadcast partners.

Nevada is coming off an 8-5 season that included a third-place finish in the MW West Division and an appearance in the Quick Lane Bowl. New coach Ken Wilson took over the program in December, after Norvell left for Colorado State.
