Football Hawkeye will face the Penn State No.4 in a top-five clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions are both unbeaten in the 2021 season at 5-0, and Iowa hosts the first top-four clash that does not involve Ohio State and Michigan since 1962. Kinnick Stadium didn’t see a top-four competition. since 1985, when No.1 Iowa faced No.2 Michigan.

Pre-match

Iowa opened as a 2.5-point favorite over Penn State, but the line narrowed to IOWA -1.5 on Saturday.

All players from both depths of Iowa are available today. Senior offensive lineman Kyler Schott missed the first two weeks of the season with a preseason injury while putting hay on his family farm, but recorded his first start against Maryland last Friday. Junior offensive lineman Justin Britt took limited shots against Maryland last week, but is now very healthy.

True first-year offensive lineman Connor Colby is listed as the first right guard against Penn State, and Britt lines up behind him. Iowa’s full starting offensive line includes red-shirted rookie Mason Richman on left tackle, Schott at left guard, junior Tyler Linderbaum at center, Colby at right guard and second Nick DeJong on right tackle.
