Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah, the owner of King Faisal

Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah, the owner of King Faisal is well known for his contribution to the discovery of football talent and his role in the growth of Ghanaian football.

The veteran football administrator has been a constant face for decades and is widely respected for producing talents such as Sammy Kuffour, Shilla Illiasu, among others.

His eccentric nature, however, saw him clash with some personalities in the football fraternity.

After his recent argument with Asamoah Gyan, GhanaWeb lists a few instances where Alhaji Grusah punched some footballers.

Sammy Kuffour

The legendary Ghanaian central defender owes his discovery and education to the great Alhaji Grusah.

The two, however, were involved in an argument with Alhaji criticizing Sammy Kuffour.

Alhaji Grusah in an interview described Sammy Kuffour as ungrateful. He claimed that Sammy Kuffour does not appreciate what he has done for him.

“I have worked with a lot of players, but today’s players are ungrateful. People like Sammy Osei Kuffour, Sulley Muntari, and Shilla Illiasu all turned their backs on me after helping them. None of them were able to say Alhaji [Grusah] we played against King Faisal so we’re back to improve the squad. They are all ungrateful players, ”he added.

Sulley muntari

Alhaji Grusah also tried Sulley Muntari, another player who came through his hands before reaching the peak of his career.

Alhaji does not feel appreciated by Muntari whom he claims to have directed his career and pushed to the top.

“I have worked with a lot of players, but today’s players are ungrateful. People like Sammy Osei Kuffour, Sulley Muntari, and Shilla Illiasu all turned their backs on me after helping them.

Michel essien

The former Black Stars midfielder is not among the talents discovered by Alhaji Grusah but he fell on the wrong side of Alhaji Grusah during his playing career.

After the CAN 2010 where he suffered some injuries, Essien put an end to his career, urging the managers of the national team to give him some time before putting his club career back on track.

Alhaji Grusah slammed Michael Essien and told Ghanaians to put him aside and focus on the players who were ready to play their hearts out for the country.

Asamoah Gyan

Asamoah Gyan is the latest to incur Alhaji Grusah’s wrath. The club owner faced Asamoah Gyan for his comment on Ghana’s penalty kick against South Africa.

Alhaji later apologized for shaming Asamoah, whom he criticized for his heavy back. Alhaji Grusah warned Gyan that he wouldn’t even have the chance to be a bullet collector for the Black Stars.

Asamoah Gyan declined to comment on the matter.

Silla Illiasu

Illiasu and Alhaji Grusah have clashed a few times. Illiasu believes that Alhaji Grusah cost him a dream transfer to Arsenal football club.

He believes Grusah’s failure to come to an agreement with the English cost him a career change at the club after the 2006 World Cup.

This claim has been disputed by Alhaji Grusah who describes him as an ungrateful who did not repay after helping him build a career in football.
