Dexter football stars take top honors at Little Ten Conference

A number of members of the Small Schools 8-player champion Dexter Regional High School football team have been recognized in the playoffs by the Little Ten Conference. Senior Gage Sinclair was named McKay “Toogie” Offensive Lineman of the Year.

A number of members of the Small Schools 8-player champion Dexter Regional High School football team have been recognized in the playoffs by the Little Ten Conference.

Senior Gage Sinclair was named McKay “Toogie” Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Head Coach Andrew Shorey is Dale Curry Coach of the Year.

The LTC first team offensive Tigers – which includes both big school and small school players – are senior running back Avery Gagnon, senior fullback Nathan Schobel, Sinclair on the line and junior tight end Will Kusnierz.

LINE OF THE YEAR – Senior Dexter Gage Sinclair, pictured with the regional championship plaque a week before the Tigers won the state title, has been named the McKay “Toogie” offensive lineman of the Little Conference. Ten, winning first-team honors on both sides of the balls. Avery Gagnon (3) and Cam Allen (7) are also pictured. Gagnon is an LTC first team player as running back and defensive back, and Allen is on the LTC second team offense as a utility player and second team defensive back.

The second team offense includes junior quarterback Bryce Connor and senior utility player Cam Allen.

Junior winger Kayden Kimball, Sinclair on the line, Schobel as linebacker and Gagnon for defensive end are named to the first team defense.

Allen was chosen for the second team’s defensive backfield.

Dexter’s All-Academic winners are Schobel, senior Owen Brown, Kusnierz and junior Caleb Schobel.
