CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County’s 50th All-Star All-Star Football Game will take place Friday at John Carroll’s Don Shula Stadium at Wasmer Field.
The Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association hosts the Scoring All-Star Game for outgoing high schoolers.
Solon’s Brian Wisniewsi will lead the east, while new Rhodes coach Anthony Carbone will lead the west.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with $8 entry. All ticket revenue helps provide scholarships for players entering their freshman year of college.
Since 1972, the game has featured stars who played in the NFL including: Cleveland Heights’ Travis Kelce, Valley Forge’s Jamie Meder and Benedictine’s Najee Goode.
The East won last year’s game, 14-6, with Solon’s Pat McQuaide and Holy Name’s Garrett Sparks selected as the team’s MVP. East leads the series, 27-20-1.
The Browns and University Hospitals are sponsoring this year’s game with help from Winning Edge Fundraising, Morgan Services, Bedford-Mentor Nissan, All Pro Recruiting, Brock, Professional Gridiron Group and Sports Focus Sporting Goods.
